Vaughn College of Aeronautics and Technology was originally founded as the Casey Jones School of Aeronautics in Newark, NJ, in 1932. It is a private, specialized Aviation and Engineering college now located adjacent to LaGuardia Airport in Queens, NY. It made the move to New York City in 1940 and has gone through a few name changes -- the most recent being in September 2004 to honor one of the founders. It is the only college in New York that offers the Mechatronics engineering program developed at MIT.
