The PATH train system began operations in 1908, pre-dating New York City’s subway system. Currently serving over 20,000 riders daily, the Newport PATH Station connects northern New Jersey commuters to New York City’s Financial District and the West Village/Chelsea/Herald Square neighborhoods.
NY Engineers provided electrical engineering consulting for the station. This project involved moving condenser units and rerouting power from old units to new ones.
The Louis J. Lefkowitz Building at 80 Centre Street opened in 1930 as a central home for government offices in downtown Manhattan. Today, it houses the District Attorney’s office in addition to other court and government offices.
