Located in the westernmost neighborhood of Queens, Long Island City, is a multifaceted community, notable for its rich history, thriving artistic community, and its family-friendly parks. Because it was once home to many factories and bakeries, the city has had numerous abandoned sites that were creatively converted into television studio spaces, such as Silvercup Studios, formerly the Silvercup Bakery, which has produced notable works such as 30 Rock, Gossip Girl, Mad Men, HBO’s Sex and the City, and other various films.
The site, located within the Dutch Kills hamlet of Long Island City, is undergoing construction to become an eight-story, 16-room hotel. NY Engineers provided MEP engineering consultation services to the project.
With unparalleled city views, 134 luxurious rooms, and a prime location, AKA Central Park is a lavish home away from home.
In addition to the amenities of the hotel proper, suite guests can also take advantage of luxury linens and robes, spacious in-suite living areas, bottled water, and access to the Executive Lounge.
NY Engineers was hired to provide consulting engineering services for various mechanical and electrical upgrades, including conference room and corridor renovation. Fire protection was coordinated with Aon Risk Solutions.
